So what to do on an overcast Sunday afternoon? A household of pretty tired people after a lovely night out for us with very special friends. Wonderful food, entertaining conversations, and just the right amount of Sauvignon Blanc to make sure that we really do only feel very tired today. SW19 Junior has returned home from a sleepover with many of his friends who have all moved on to Secondary School this term, so they have had a wonderful time but very little sleep. So how to while away a bit of time ... well obviously for me baking a cake is the best thing to do. I've made this Apple Pudding Cake quite a few times before and will make it a lot more times in the future. This really is totally delicious hot or warm from the oven with custard. But just as good, it tastes very good cold with a cup of tea.
Tomorrow I have to give my thoughts to baking a birthday cake or cakes to take to afternoon drinks on Tuesday to mark a milestone birthday for a friend. Might be cupcakes, or might turn out to be a variation on a Victoria Sponge cake ... decisions, decisions ...
